Save the Date: June 9, 2018 – Centennial Celebration & Re-dedication of the Pioneer Monument


Erected to honor the immigrants who passed through Truckee en-route to new opportunities in the West, the Pioneer Monument has stood majestically at Donner Memorial State Park for 99 years. At its dedication on June 6, 1918, thousands of people and three Donner Party survivors gathered to honor the past. June 9, 2018 is the re-dedication, centennial celebration, and restoration kickoff of this iconic statue.

11am-noon:                            Rededication Ceremony (Free public event)

12pm-4pm                             Family activities, music, exhibits (Free)

5:30pm                                   Centennial Celebration Gala (limited tickets)

 July 7 & 8, 2018 – 5oth Annual Meeks Bay Pancake Breakfast

The Sierra State Parks Foundation is honored keep this tradition alive by becoming the producer of this treasured community event.  2018 dates are July 7 and 8, 2018 at the fire station in Meeks Bay.  Breakfast is $10 adults/$8 children.  Best raffle on the West Shore!  Join the fun and volunteer!
