In honor of the 50th Birthday of the Sierra State Parks Foundation and the women of the Lake Tahoe Arts League who saved the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion from being torn down, we are offering free-of-cost* beginner plein-air (an outdoor) art class as part of CA State Park’s “Howdy Neighbor” Open House. It is an opportunity to create a painting of the beautiful grounds of Sugar Pine Point State Park. Renowned artist Astrid C Mendieta will lead participants in the creation of a masterpiece that you can bring home and enjoy. This program is brought to you with a grant from the Sierra State Parks Foundation.
Please wear a hat and bring water to drink. Suggested for 16-year-olds and up. Meet near the Gazebo on the Day Use side of the park.
*$10 Parking for the park is still mandatory
