Celebrate local Olympic History with a Free Ski and Snowshoe Day at the Park!

The 7th annual Free Ski and Snowshoe Day at Sugar Pine Point State Park returns! The Foundation co-hosts this event with California State Parks to connect the community to the Olympic Heritage history, as well as offer an accessible opportunity for new park visitors to explore the park!

On the campground side of Sugar Pine Point State Park (not lakeside), there are groomed trails perfect for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

Activities include a FREE "Path of the Olympians" guided snowshoe hike at 1 pm (gear included!), cross-country ski rentals, Biathlon Laser Rifle Demo, snow science, and Jr. Ranger activities. Pastries and refreshments will be provided by the Sierra State Parks Foundation.


Register for a FREE parking pass, valid only on March 1, 2026, from 11-3 pm. Then print your ticket and place it on the dashboard on the day of.
