History and Mountain Lake Fun Await You

Donner Memorial State Park is located amid the pine and fir forests just west of the charming, historic town of Truckee in the Sierra Nevada. Surrounded by magnificent alpine scenery and directly adjacent to a beautiful three-mile-long lake, the park offers visitors a wide range of historic and recreational opportunities. Winter and summer fun at the park includes camping, picnicking, hiking, boating, fishing and water sports. Historic and cultural amenities include the Emigrant Trail Museum and Pioneer Monument showcasing the overland immigration of the 1840’s, the Donner Tragedy, natural history of the Truckee Basin as well as local Native American communities.
