LEGACY - The Chronicles of Chinese Railroad Workers

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and this year, the US Forest Service released their short film, “Legacy”,

“Legacy” is an amazing look into what went into building the Transcontinental Railroad, the contributions of thousands of Chinese Railroad Workers, and just what an engineering feat it was.

We have a special connection to this railroad and its history here in Tahoe because it runs through Truckee and alongside Donner Lake. We are so grateful for the sacrifice made by all of those who worked themselves to the bone in this rugged environment in the name of progress. Without the Transcontinental Railroad, America, and even our Tahoe community, would be completely different.
