Ribbon Cutting at Visitors Center

What We Do

The Sierra State Parks Foundation funds State Park educational and interpretive programs in seven state parks.  This support, which helps make the visitor experience exceptional and special, is now critically needed because the state has cut funding to the parks so drastically.

With your help we can save our State Parks through volunteerism, donations and memberships.

Whether it’s as a visitor or a volunteer, we hope to see you enjoying our Lake Tahoe-Donner region California State Parks soon!

“Another glorious Sierra day in which one seems to be dissolved and absorbed and sent pulsing onward we know not where. Life seems neither long nor short, and we take no more heed to save time or make haste than do the trees and stars. This is true freedom, a good practical sort of immortality.”

—John Muir, from John of the Mountains (1938)
