Welcome to the Team, Stefanie!

The Sierra State Parks Foundation is so excited to bring our first-ever AmeriCorps Member, Stefanie Studen, onto our team through our partnership with the Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps!

AmeriCorps was founded in 1965 as the domestic version of the Peace Corps. Just like the military and Peace Corps, AmeriCorp is a form of service to our country. The AmeriCorp network of national service programs all serve the same mission: “improving lives and fostering civic engagement.”

The Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps Partnership, also known as SNAP, is our local chapter of AmeriCorps and responsible for placing 27 AmeriCorps members with organizations like the SSPF whose missions are all to preserve the Sierra Nevada.

Stefanie’s role with SSPF will be communications and volunteer support. We got big plans with Stefanie such as garden work days, family-friendly activity books, and interpretative videos! We are so fortunate to have Stefanie help carry the mission of SNAP and SSPF; welcome to the team, Stefanie!
