Tales and Trails

Join SSPF and California State Parks for the 1st Annual Tales & Trails Festival, a single day packed full of programs that will interest visitors of all ages! Starting at 11am, families are invited to join us for activities including guided nature and history walks, photo opportunities with Ed Z. Bear and Kenny the Crawfish, half-price tours of historic Pine Lodge, hands-on crawfishing demonstrations, face-painting and button-making booths, traditional Washoe culture and dance, meet and greets with representatives from state parks and other local wildlife and environmental agencies, and more! Enjoy the beach, visit our food vendors for pizza, hot dogs, and ice cream, and bring a blanket to enjoy the 6pm performance by McAvoy Lane as the Ghost of Mark Twain, sponsored by the Sierra State Parks Foundation. The standard $10 per vehicle Day Use Fee will apply. Transit shuttles will be available. We can’t wait to see you there!
