Sierra Speaker Series: Truckee from 1960 to Present

July 17 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Free
Following World War II, Truckee experienced 3 major changes. The 1960 Winter Olympics and the completion of Interstate 80 brought international recognition to the area. In the early 1990’s, Truckee incorporated taking its governance into its own hands. And today, Truckee is a combination of an historic mountain town with a vibrant growing community, connected by a maze of roundabouts. Come learn about each of the changes and their impacts.
Dave is on the Board for the new Museum of Truckee History and Tahoe Silicon Mountain. Dave volunteers with the Truckee-Donner Historical Society and the Truckee Donner Railroad Society. Since 1960, Dave has been coming to the Tahoe Truckee area for skiing and hiking. He moved to Truckee full time in 2017.
