Give Back Tahoe 2021

November 30 - December 14

The Sierra State Parks Foundation (SSPF), the local nonprofit park partner for eight the amazing Lake Tahoe and Donner Lake California State Parks, is participating in the 2021 Give Back Tahoe, hosted by Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation, from November 30th until December 14th. Give Back Tahoe is a community effort to fund local nonprofits and will enable SSPF to fund educational programming throughout 2022.
Without funds through charity giving opportunities like Give Back Tahoe, educational programing in local state parks including Donner Memorial State Park and Sugar Pine Point State Park are at risk of being canceled. The money raised by the SSPF is spent on hiring and sustaining a certified State Park Interpreter for the CA Lake Tahoe Parks District. This interpreter hosts educational programs and teaches students a wide variety of subjects in a hands-on learning environment. These unique programs are made available to youth of all ages at no cost to their families in order to encourage more equity in our parks and inspire a love for nature!
The California State Parks are for all, not just those who can afford them. Please consider donating to the Sierra State Parks Foundation this Give Back Tahoe giving season to preserve equity in our parks. Donations can be made at GiveBackTahoe.org and SierraStateParks.org.
