Centennial Celebration of the Pioneer Monument
June 9 @ 11:00 am - 9:00 pm
Erected to honor the immigrants who passed through Truckee en-route to new opportunities in the West, the Pioneer Monument has stood majestically at Donner Memorial State Park for 99 years. At its dedication on June 6, 1918, thousands of people and three Donner Party survivors gathered to honor the past. June 9, 2018 is the re-dedication, centennial celebration, and restoration kickoff of this iconic statue.
Re-dedication Ceremony – 11 am (free)
Family Activities – 12-4 pm (free)
Centennial Fundraising Gala – 5:30-9 pm
Celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Pioneer Monument and kickoff the Donner Project fundraising campaign with a cocktail hour, live music, and silent auction at 5:30 pm, followed by a gourmet feast of Farm and Sea by Magic Mountain Catering paired with fine wines and a “not-so-silent” auction.
