A Night At The Museum: Celebrating the Pioneer Spirit
The Sierra State Parks Foundation is proud to host its second annual fundraising gala “A Night At The Museum”, Saturday evening, June 4th. This year’s theme is “Celebrating the Pioneer Spirit” and will kick off fundraising efforts to restore the Donner Monument.
Beginning at 6pm, the Truckee Regulators will greet guests in the parking lot as they enter the Visitor Center. Docents will be on hand for a private tour of this one-year-old, state-of-the-art facility that features exhibits on regional Native American and natural history, the Donner Party and early pioneers, Chinese construction of the railroad through the Sierra, the Lincoln Highway, US highway 40, the development of Interstate 80, and into the 20th century.
Guests will sip complimentary wine and enjoy catered hors d’oeuvres while they mingle, accompanied by the music of Richard Blair. Guests will be encouraged to don period costume accessories and take “selfies” behind the special guilded frame to commemorate the evening.
Select one-of-a-kind “Not-So-Silent Auction” packages will be available for silent bidding during the cocktail hour. Offered for auction are unique and exciting packaged experiences.
The dinner bell will ring at 7pm when guests will be seated in the new community room that will have been transformed into an exciting dining room for the evening. Mountain Magic catering will present a remarkable gourmet meal paired with a variety of fine wines.
Ed Miller, Sierra State Parks Foundation supporter and volunteer, will be your emcee for the evening and conduct the not-so-silent part of the auction between courses.
Tickets for “A Night At The Museum: Celebrating the Pioneer Experience” are $150 per person. Seating capacity is very limited, so guests are encouraged to purchase their tickets early to assure their participation.
