Earth Day Drawing Contest Winners!
Happy Earth Day! Today we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the First Earth Day and although our celebrations look a little different this year, the original Earth Day message still rings true.
This year, the Sierra State Parks Foundation (SSPF) wanted to involve all members of the community and all those who love our local Tahoe-Donner California State Parks in our Earth Day Celebration by hosting an art contest. We are so excited about how many incredible entries we received and overwhelmed with the community’s support of this contest!
“We are grateful for the dozens of entries we received from across the country. The variety of entries and the passion for the subject was apparent in each submission. What a wonderful way to honor Earth Day!” said Executive Director Heidi Doyle.
It was difficult to choose the winners of each category and we thank everyone who entered. Though the decision was very hard, we think the winners we chose had the drawings that best represented the spirit of Earth Day.

There is more…
The Boat Works Mall in Tahoe City generously offered an indoor display windows and we are so excited to use this space to exhibit all the contest entries during the summer season. A special thanks to California State Parks Foundation for their financial support of the contest as well. Stay tuned for the announcement of when the display goes live!
